I’m here right now at UCC in Fort Bonifacio waiting for my next meeting and I decided to do a quick blog entry using the iPad. The ability to blog on a portable machine like a tablet was the reason why I decided to get the first generation iPad last year. However I still end up just writing drafts on the tablet and do actual blogging on my MacBook when I get home.
The WordPress iOS app by itself is incredibly sluggish and has several bugs. You’ll also have a hard time doing multimedia posts since it’s hard to insert photos and videos unless you’re proficient wih HTML. The user interface of the app also isn’t optimized. Using WordPress on the iPad is not intuitive and even if you do get the hang of it you’ll just get frustrated because it doesn’t offer you all the features the web version does.
Hopefully we will see more effective blogging tools and applications come out for tablets soon, especially the iPad.
