One good way of doing viral marketing is to take advantage of any video that’s currently making a huge wave on social networks. In order to make the most of this though you have to react pretty fast and put up your follow-up video before the momentum dies down. You’ll also have to consider how you’ll work with the people behind the original video. Will you pay them license fees? Will you hire them for your video?
Here are three examples of viral videos that got branded follow-ups.
We love you Maria Venus Raj, KFC Follow-up
The Force Volkswagon Commercial, Thor Follow-up
Christopher Lao News Report, BPI Auto Insurance Follow-up
The Follow-up needs support
As with any digital campaign the follow-up video needs to have support for it to gain momentum. This can be in the form of ads or blog marketing. If the content you create is not too much of a hard sell and the over-all theme of the original video is still present then it might just work.
