TV5's BagetsNation.Com Wins 2011 DigitalFilipino Social Networking Awards (Forums)

Last week I received an e-mail saying that our entry to the 2011 DigitalFilipino Social Networking Awards, Bagetsnation.com, won in the Forum Category! This was definitely something that took me and my team by surprise since we were up against more established forums and community sites.

I guess what made it special is that it was totally different. When we were asked by the production team to come up with a forum we immediately threw away the idea of making your usual community boards. We wanted something that the brand had control of and something that can do away with the pesky forum registration process. We wanted a “social forum”. Something that was heavily integrated with Facebook since most of our viewers used it already. That’s how BagetsNation.Com came about. Some of the questions asked by the characters on the pages got over 3,000-4,000 comments each. That’s pretty amazing and that definitely beats the number of replies you usually get from traditional forum threads.

We’re already on version 2 but it’s still on beta and we’re still tweaking and fixing it.

Anyway, thank you again to DigitalFilipino and Search Profile Index for the award. Of course let me give a shout out to everybody who worked on this project: TV5′s New Media Team, Team Sparrow, VIVA, Ms. Ruby (TV5 Prod), and of course Sheen from TV5′s Creative Group who came up with the idea to do the site in the first place. :)

TV5 is doing good for the past months since it first”bloomed”.. The only concern, however, that I want to raise is the “over-show” of cartoons and animes which I think are not so substantial, if not educational, for the young viewers. maybe at least 2 or 3 cartoons in the morning will suffice? I understand that your network is working for its ratings but what good is a high rating if you do not give a substantive avenue of learning for the kids? is this all just for “business’?? >>my siblings almost do not move an inch from their chairs from morning til noon the moment they start watching tv5 cartoons. and that is so ridiculous!!! my siblings are becoming unproductive because of you! get it??

i like tv5 since it was aired but i thought it was not the same with other network…
Now it looks like the same with other network cause i like movie in the afternoon but your movie always played the same…You know what minsan kakatamad na manood sa inyo..I wish sana magpalabas kau every month ng ibat ibang klase ng palabas na tagalized basta wag lng paulit ulit…Malapit na rin kayong pumareho sa isang network na bumagsak ng rating dahil sa hinde maayos na pagpapalabas ng movies or anime…
Minsan kc nakakayamot na panoorin pag paulit ulit…Salamat…Mabuhay ang TV5…
