In an interview with Wired’s editor Chris Anderson, Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz revealed that they will be rolling out free Wi-Fi to all of their branches nationwide in the United States. Yes, you read that right. F-R-E-E. Here in the Philippines we have to pay an insane hourly rate of P100 if we want to access the internet in Starbucks via their partnership with Globe. Hopefully the local management will follow and we’ll have free Wi-Fi available in Starbucks soon! I made a short list of restaurants that I frequently visit that offer free Wi-Fi. Check them out after the break.
Some restaurants/coffee shops that I frequent that offer free Wi-Fi:
- Coffee Bean (if you have their Swirl Card)
- Flap Jacks
- Fish & Co.
- Bizu (my favorite branch is in Promenade, Greenhills)
- Peri-peri
- Teriyaki Boy (not all branches yet I think)
- Burger King
- Burgoo
- Malcolm’s (across ABS-CBN)
- TGI Friday’s
- Marina (Panay Avenue Branch)
- Podium Mall
- SM Malls (not sure if all SM malls have)
- Claw Daddy
Just feel free to add to the short list that I have. I’m sure there’s a lot more. These are just the places that I love going to that have Wi-Fi. By the way, other than Starbucks I also love going to UCC. I find it frustrating that they’re also charging P100/hour. =_=
