Solutions not just information

Here’s a good tip for bloggers and SEO students. People go to the web not just for information, they go to the web to look for solutions. I’ve been blogging across various niches for the past few years and the entries that get the most views are the ones that offer solutions to specific problems or needs. For example, my gaming blog is getting thousands of hits from short guides that I made on Final Fantasy XIII and Dragon Age: Origins. For New Media, the posts that generate the most views are the ones that give tips and advice on internet marketing, blogging, and social media. Articles like these also get the most number of retweets and Facebook shares.

The next time you’re coming out with a blog post, try to offer more value to your readers by providing them with real solutions to their problems. When you give value to others, you add value to yourself.
