President Aquino’s ex-girlfriend, Shalani Soledad, debuted today as Willie Revillame’s hosting partner on TV5′s Willing Willie. During the show Filipinos hit Twitter to discussed how she was doing as a TV host. The volume of the tweets was enough to catapult the term “Shalani” on the global trending topics for Twitter.
Other than Shalani, “Willing Willie” also made it to the top trending topics.
I’m not 100% sure but I heard that TV Patrol also trended on Twitter. They recently put Korina Sanchez and former Vice-President Noli De Castro back as anchors replacing Karen Davila and Julius Babao.
It looks like the viewing habits for Filipinos is now much more active (more specifically the ones who are on Twitter). Television executives and producers can get real time feedback on how the show is going by monitoring Twitter during the airing of their programs.
Shalani is simple but beautiful.
