I got this question via e-mail this morning and I just wanted to quickly answer it now. While I strongly advise people to make their own blogs and sites to sell their services and items, classified ads websites like SULIT and AYOSDITO can actually help drive traffic to your site and also close deals for you. The engineers behind these sites put a huge premium on SEO (search engine optimization). This is a big plus for you since there’s a higher chance of you popping out on the first page of Google if you post your items on these sites and you tag them properly.
For example, while searching for second hand Canon G9 cameras, this is what came out:

Imagine how much eyeballs that seller is getting? For free?
Leverage existing social networks and sites to drive traffic to yours.
PS: I was interviewed by both companies when I was still in corporate. Deals didn’t push through though. Just an aside, hehe.

Effective din to sakin, most of my potential clients saw my ads on sulit.
Ang ginagawa ko nag iisip ako mga longtail keywords para ma hijack ko at mag rank sa search results
Kaya lahat ng mga ads ko sa sulit maraming hits,
at nag rank sa mga keywords like:
Freelance Joomla Developer Philippines
Freelance WordPress Designer Philippines
Wordpress Developer Philippines
Freelance Magento Developer Philippines
Freelance SEO Consultant Philippines
VirtueMart Developer Philippines

Thanks,
Nope this is not true especially for Sulit.com.ph… They utilize the tag ‘ rel=”nofollow” ‘ on any hyperlink that you attach on your content… “nofollow” is a value that instructs search engines that a hyperlink should not influence the link target’s ranking in most search engines… this is to lessen search engine spam. So basically it will not push your website up the search rankings.
Actually you’re just observing the effect of Sulit.com’s own SEO capabilities which is quite powerful. You’re right, your product may get the top results on Google but this is still inside Sulit. People will view your ad along with other competitor products being promoted by Sulit.com.ph.
So what would you prefer? Have your product viewed inside the SM Department Store mixed with other brands or have them viewed on your own boutique where you have control?
Cheers!
