Overpriced iPads and Accessories in Greenhills

I spent a couple of hours today checking out all the stores in Greenhills that sell the iPad and the various accessories that go with it. First, let me just say that a lot of them are selling the iPad at unreasonable prices. One store in Theater Mall was selling the iPad for 43,000 pesos just for the 16GB model. The 32GB model was being sold for a whooping 49,000! If you go inside Vmall you will find some stores which sell the basic model for 38,000-42,000. I heard that there was a store selling it at 35,000 but I wasn’t able to find it.

In terms of accessories, Infomax is selling iPad silicon and leather cases. The silicon case comes in either black or white and they cost 1,500. The leather case with the cover will set you back 2,500. Note that these aren’t even the official iPad accessories. In fact the leather case that they’re selling reminds me of the low quality leather cases sold for mobile phones. Here’s a photo of the white silicon skin:

Hopefully more affordable ones will be available as the iPad becomes officially on retail.
