In the world of digital, marketers always push the envelope when it comes to innovation and creativity. However we have to remember one very important thing: nobody has a monopoly on good ideas. It doesn’t mean that since you’re the Digital Marketing Group that you’re ideas will be the ones that always work. Part of the discipline of Digital Marketing is having the ability to discern good suggestions from your colleagues.
Some examples:
- A lot of the elements of BagetsNation was suggested by Sheen from our Creatives Group (Broadcast). She’s not part of the New Media Team but she contributed a lot of great ideas that gave birth to the over-all concept of the site.
- Roby Alampay, EIC of InterAksyon, is a walking innovation machine. He comes up with really great ideas non-stop and we’re very fortunate to have him on board TV5. An example? TNAV – the Metro Manila Traffic Navigator.
- The Twitter Mosaic of Nasaan si Aga was born during a brainstorming session over coffee with one of my best friends, Dodge.
- We just had a planning session for the New Media Group and some of the most innovative ideas came from our colleagues from Sales!
Of course recognizing good ideas is just part of the equation. Making them happen is what makes it truly great.
Thanks to Roby, Sheen, Dodge, and everybody who was present during the New Media Group Planning Session! To everyone reading this article always remember — Nobody has a monopoly on good ideas.
