My Tumblr Experiment

Tumblr is another blogging/micro-blogging service. I’ve heard a lot of very good things about this platform so I finally decided to give it a try. Other than the raves, I’ve also been getting a lot of reader questions on how to make money using Tumblr. Since I don’t want to give canned answers I’m going to try it first and experiment with it. I’ll just share the experience with everyone on this site. For my Tumblr blog, I decided to take on a more relaxed but very niche topic. The title of my Tumblr blog is “Labag sa Kalooban” wherein I post pictures of things that I buy that are my guilty pleasures. Please do visit the site out and let me know what you think, haha. Cheers!

  1. Carlo, do you know that you can redirect your tumblr blog to your own domain or subdomain? It’s like the vanity url in facebook, only better. The difference is that you can get rid of the “tumblr” in your url like from carloople.tumblr.com to blog.carloople.com.

I’ve looked around but I’m not sure if tumblr blogs can be monetized. I could be wrong though, that might depend on the theme you use. As far as I know, many web developers are now creating tumblr versions of some wordpress themes. Monetizing tumblr may just be the next step.
