PhilMUG had an iPad users meet-up at Elbert’s Cheesesteak in Power Plant Mall and I had the opportunity to chat with the owner of Digital Hub, Charlie Paw. One of the interesting things he mentioned in our talk was that there are already a lot of iPad users in the Philippines. According to Charlie, one of his branches has already sold around 400 modified screen protectors for the iPad! That’s just for 1 branch and we’re only talking about Digital Hub. Who knows? Maybe there are already more than a thousand iPad users locally.
There are a lot of vendors already scattered in Greenhills selling iPads. Initially the prices for 16GB Wifi models were at P37,000 but now you can get one for P33,000. There are some online stores who are selling them for around P30,000-P32,000 as well. iPad 3G models are also starting to pop up with the 16GB 3G model selling anywhere from P35,000 to P40,000.
Charlie also said in our discussions that Digital Hub will be selling various iPad cases and accessories starting next week. To all iPad users out there make sure to drop by Digital Hub to check out what they have to offer. I suggest you go end of the week to make sure that the various branches are already selling the merchandise.
