Photography is now a huge thing here in the Philippines. With the decline of prices of DSLR cameras as well as the popularity of 0% deferred payment schemes, more and more Filipinos are getting cameras for their households. Personally I think it’s a great investment because you get to capture the best moments of your life and you can easily share it with everyone through social media. Anyway, a few days ago I received an invite to an “Open Photoshoot” with popular car show model Jahziel Manabat. Photographers who want to join will pay a fee of P2,000 to be part of the 2 hour session with a maximum of 15 slots.

This is a great example of how to find ways to monetize a hobby or passion. All it takes is some creativity, innovation, and determination and you can create products with just your imagination, connections, and hard work. This is a win-win-win for everyone because the photographers get to practice, learn, and meet a model. The model will get paid for her time and she will get tons of exposure through social media. The event organizer will also get something.
FYI: If the “attending” number is an indication of the success of this activity, they already have enough people for 8 runs of this thing, haha.
