Job Offers at LinkedIn
May 20
Remember what HR Expert Sonnie Santos said in his interview about Personal Branding? One of his key points was to make use of LinkedIn, a social network that’s mostly used by corporate headhunters and recruiters. I just wanted to share with everyone that LinkedIn is really effective, and I recently got several inquiries. Note that I’m not saying that I’m leaving my current job, I’m just stating that LinkedIn has gotten me a lot of offers and interviews. Details after the break.
Here’s a screencap of one of the inquiries:

Make a LinkedIn Account!
I know that not a lot of Filipinos use LinkedIn. It’s a really good tool especially if you’re a corporate professional like myself. Make sure you put up your complete profile/resume and try to get recommendations from your former and present co-workers who also have an account in LinkedIn.
Microblogging Updates
Just like any other social network, you can use microblogging platforms like Twitter to update your status on LinkedIn. Just set it up and everything should be automatic. Just go back to check your account if you received invitations to connect or messages for possible interviews.
Bloggers Can Benefit from LinkedIn
Sonnie explained in his interview that he got a very good job offer because he displayed a LinkedIn badge on his sidebar of his blog. When a headhunter bumped into his site, the guy checked his account and eventually started the interview/hiring process. If you’re a blogger and you want a better job, it won’t hurt if you put your LinkedIn account on your sidebar via the badge.

I used to display my Linkedln badge in my blog but removed it after a series of theme changes. I will contemplate on putting it up again, just in case
Thanks for this post Carlo. Cheers!
@dimaks: You definitely should put it back
