As most of you guys have probably noticed by now I’m a huge fan of BlackBerry and Apple products. I was never really inclined to go the Android route… until last night! My good friend, Kelvs, had a Samsung Galaxy S with him and he showed me some of the features of Android 2.2. The thing I liked the most about the Android 2.2 OS is the ability to customize the home screen and the dock. This is something that even the Apple iPad and obviously the iPhone 4 can’t do. With the Android OS you can put up all sorts of widgets that will help you be more productive. Here’s a short video that we shot… ironically with an iPhone 4, haha!
Hopefully the next version of iOS will have something like this. The dashboard feature of the Mac OSX should definitely be included in the iOS platform as well. That would make it much more interesting, enjoyable, and fun. I’m looking forward to what Google will come out next with Android 2.3!

Argh. Now I have to buy an Android phone. Hahaha. x.x

Uh Carlo, regarding the video, is it really supposed to be Sanding or Samsung? XD
Auto-correct of the iPhone 4. Apple hates Samsung. Lol.
i bought a samsung wave s8500 with samsung’s own Bada OS. it operates almost the same as android – customizable homescreen, pull out widgets, etc. tho the galaxy s is better in a lot of ways, i’m happy to say i sure got a winner in the s8500 already. great job to all samsung engineers.
That’s awesome. I’m going to ask Sony Ericsson if they can lend me a review unit of the Xperia. I’m really interested with the Android OS.
My review:

tell me if sony ericsson actually gives you a review unit. i am interested to know how open they are with bloggers
Xperia’s not a good device to review Android. It’s way behind on firmware updates. I think 2.1 was only recently released something like 2 months ago.
hey, carlo.
can you ask your friend about the schedule viewer he’s using? that looks nice.

Sure I’ll ask him when I bump into him again
The one at the start of the vid ? It’s Calwidget. It’s a free app.
2.3 is already in Nexus S
Am using Palm Desktop extensively, used the TX3 handheld a lot. Is the new Samsung Galaxy S just reviewed a good replacement for the Palm Desktop contact management / diary software (fast, extensive but organized, flexible). If not, what is? I wanna go back to carrying my contact mgt device again. Tx.
I agree with SBellare, get the Nexus S. (After all newest updates from Google will take effect with Google branded phones first before the other Android phones)
