My good friend and fellow blogger Sonnie Santos approached me a few weeks ago and asked me if I can give a talk about web safety for kids (specifically for online gaming) for an event he was organizing. The goal of the event was to orient parents about the potential dangers of the web for their kids. I was a bit hesitant to take this on since I came from the online gaming industry (used to work for Level Up) but I decided to take it on when I came to the conclusion that I can come up with a balanced and informative presentation that won’t just mindlessly slam the industry that paved the way for my professional career.
The first seminar is scheduled on July 10, 2010 at the Microsoft Auditorium in Makati. Registration is free but you have to reserve your slot by e-mailing reservations@websafetyforparents.org.
