Daniel Matsunaga and Hair Removal Cream (x.x)

Remember the so-called Daniel Matsunaga Elevator Scandal? It was later on revealed by the model that it was just a publicity stunt to promote a brand called Veet. Today Adobo Magazine shared in an article what Veet is all about and what the end game is for this entire campaign.

So what’s the promo?
Participants are asked to submit videos of them using the product while explaining why they should win a date with Matsunaga and some gadgets.. Entries are then posted on the Veet Facebook Page and website. 50% of the criteria posted will be based on the total number of likes an entry receives while the other 50% is judged for “creativity”. I’m very interested to see how many entries this contest will be able to get.

Did it raise awareness?
It definitely raised awareness about Daniel Matsunaga. About Veet? The video helped especially when Daniel said in interviews that the video was for a brand called “Veet”. However, we’ve yet to see how big the effect truly is. The reveal video as of this writing just has 30 views compared to the 100,000+ of the elevator scandal. Here’s the video:
