Dingdong Dantes and Bench: 1M pesos for 1M followers on Twitter?

So… Bench will donate 1 million pesos to a charity if their endorser, Dingdong Dantes, gets 1 million followers on Twitter. In all honesty I don’t think Dingdong needs a promo to reach 1M given his popularity. All he has to do is to ask help from his other celebrity friends to tweet to their [...]

Viral Video Obliterates Pnoy World View Interview

One of the biggest announcements made during the Youtube Philippines launch was the World View interview of President Noynoy Aquino. This was definitely a welcome development since it showed that the Pnoy administration was open to doing out-of-the-box ideas like this one. The interview was also supported with TV and online plugs. However despite all [...]

“PH Average Internet Speed is 1.73 Mbps.” – Senator Cayetano

A few days ago we posted a story saying that international group Akamai pegged the average Filipino internet speed at 1.2 Mbps. This already raised a lot of eyebrows because people felt it was much lower. However it looks like the 1.2 Mbps peg is still low. Senator Allan Peter Cayetano just said that the [...]

I log-on to Facebook daily and one of the things that keep popping up on my News Feed is the update that shows what my friends have read on Facebook. Apparently Yahoo is the only site taking advantage of this feature for now since they’re the only ones I see on my stream via this [...]

People actually put their faces in this

So I saw this standee at the gas station near my house. I had a chat with the staff of 7-11 and apparently they see a lot of people (both guys and girls) putting their faces there and have their photos taken. It’s also driving sales of their Slurpee. Wow. Just… wow. As in… wow.

Ideas – Action = Sh*t

We launched a new project for TV5 a few days ago called “Elevator ng Lagim”. It’s basically an interactive video on Youtube which is like a “choose-your-own-adventure” type. We used Youtube Annotations so that viewers can click certain parts of the video which then are linked to different videos. Each link has a different video. [...]

Why I like the new Smart Logo

Smart unveiled their logo during the BEP concert here in Manila. It think it’s a fitting place to do so because the band and the event represents everything that the new logo tries to communicate. The old logo of Smart felt and looked very corporate, stiff, and traditional. Those are the characteristics that you shouldn’t [...]

Nielsen says quoted figures by news report are inaccurate

Nielsen (PH) sent us a clarification e-mail about the “13M Filipino Internet Users and 8.5M on Facebook” article we wrote last week. In the letter they said that the figures presented were inaccurate because they weren’t actually for the entire Philippines. The 13M number is actually just for Filipinos above 10 years old living across [...]
