4 Awesome Twitter Tools that you can use

A lot of Filipinos are starting to jump on Twitter. Right now Twitter is the 10th most visited site in the Philippines according to Alexa. Plurk, another micro-blogging service famous here in the country is at a distant 51. To fully appreciate Twitter though you might need to use other apps and tools. Here’s a post that lists down 4 Twitter awesome tools and applications that you can use which will make your Twitter life much easier and fun.

Tweet Deck

This has got to be my favorite Twitter app ever. Tweet Deck is one of the best platforms to Tweet in because it literally puts order into the chaotic world of Twitter. I probably wouldn’t be Tweeting as much if I didn’t find out about this tool. If you’re not using Tweet Deck yet then you’re missing out. I strongly recommend that you get this ASAP. It’s free, easy-to-use, and just filled with epic win. Here are some of the functionalities of Tweet Deck:

- Tweet using multiple accounts
- Update Facebook and LinkedIn status streams
- Multiple columns for different topics/searches
- Share photos on Twitter
- Automatically shortens URL’s
- Have group columns for pre-selected people that I want to follow religiously
- It has an iPhone app and…
- It also has an iPad version!

Twitter Grader

Twitter Grader is another fascinating tool which lets you compare your Twitter stats to those around the world. You can also narrow down the comparison to people in your country or city. This is also a great site to check out who the top Filipino Twitter users are. Most of them are obviously celebrities. You can also create and embed your Twitter Grade (out of 100) on your blog.

Tweet Later

Tweet Later is for people who are already hooked on Twitter and use it for “professional” purposes. This app will let you schedule tweets so that you don’t have to be connected to send out updates. Be warned though that not everyone wants to see you Tweeting the same thing over and over again. This app has two versions, one is free which has all the basic features and the second one has a monthly subscription of $29 USD. The premium version lets you also schedule updates on Facebook and it also gives you a lot of other upgrades. If you’re not really doing this for your company, I suggest you stick to the free version.

T4BP

If you find Tweet Deck dull and overwhelming to monitor the tweets of your friends, you might want to check out T4BP. It’s a site which lays out the tweets in avatar pictures. When you hover over the pictures their latest tweet comes out.

Please do hit the comments for other applications and tools that you guys use for Twitter. I’m sure there are tons out there that are very useful as well.

Happy tweeting!
