Filipino writers are always complaining about how low the pay is here in the Philippines for their profession. I can’t really blame them because the pay really is low. That won’t change anytime soon if you follow the old rules. However let me share with you some awesome news that can potentially change your life. The iPad was launched a few days ago and contrary to initial reports of 600,000-700,000 units sold, there were actually only 300,000 on the first day. Here’s the good news though, 250,000 eBooks were sold in the iBookStore first 24 hours as well. TWO HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND.
This presents a wonderful opportunity for Filipino writers that have the content but don’t have the money to publish their own work. I wrote a short article a few weeks ago with the details on how to make money on the iPad. For more details, just hop on over to that post by clicking this link.
Let me quote Seth Godin once again from his book Linchpin:
“If you’re not doing too well, maybe the rules changed and nobody told you.”
Now you know the new rules.
